Dear BSU Friends,

Easter came early this year. It seems that "everything" comes earlier and earlier for me. That includes the BSU Reunion. It is only 6 months until the 2005 reunion (see 2005 reunion page for details). I am "knee deep" in the Route 66 theme plans. I may decide to be "Betty Boop". I saw a darling picture of her on a Harley with a big Route 66 sign in the background. What a challenge!!! Now, back to our April news.

Our hearts were saddened over the death of our dear friend and coworker Eugene Quinn. What an influence he was on our BSU work. I will remember him always and treasure his memory. At our last reunion he was asked to sing "I Would Rather Have Jesus Than Anything". He did it so well and left us with another precious memory. Thank you Gene and Phronsie for your dedicated lives. (click on pictures of the Quinns in our 2001, 2003, 2004 reunion pictures) In February we lost our dear friends Ruby Vaughn and Kenneth (Bud) Rushing. These "old friends" were among the nucleus of our BSU memories. Because of these recent deaths I have decided to compile a list of deceased BSU members and make a new Web page. I have chosen to list it as Memories (click on Memories). The list was compiled from the annual BSU Reunion booklet provided to us by Harold Spencer in his report. I have added to the list from time to time when I heard from you. I will continue to update the list as needed or as information is sent to me. The list is not complete. Many names are not listed. I made a sincere (several hours) effort to get it right. Please help me keep it updated and corrected.

One final note. The music provided in the background is from the 1961-62 recording called "Chapel Echoes." It is good!! Chuck Gray was the director of the group. For more selections from the album, visit the Chapel Singers page by clicking here. Another selection is playing on the new Memories page. Click here to listen. Names are listed under the group. You will enjoy!!

Let me remind you (not that it is needed) many of our BSU members are in their late 70's and several are in their 80's -- Gene was 84. At our last reunion there were 9 or more in their 80's. Click on statistical report of 2004--check it out. I must get busy. I need to start working on May news. I will see you on Route 66 in Sept.. I may be riding a Harley dressed in red shorts with a white blouse. (Don't count on it)

May the good Lord bless and keep you. Let me hear from you if you need anything.

Note: The music on the Web site sounds best when played over a faster Internet connection such as DSL. If you connect to the Internet using dial-up, the songs may be broken up into pieces. I am working to correct this so it will play nicely for all viewers.
