Monthly News Use the buttons below to stop, pause, or replay the music. Dear BSU Friends, UPDATE Before I begin my August News let me share the latest information concerning the Chapel Singers's Second Album ( Echoes 2) made in 1961. The Director was Charles Gray. It is now on our web site. I think it is very good and I hope you will enjoy it. You can listen to it by clicking HERE. This link will be listed under Chapel Singers as well as here. You will find all 11 songs on the tape. If you click on the song and have a media player it should play fine !! If you right click the title and click "Save Target As" it will let you save the song on your computer. July has come and is nearly gone. I continue to improve with my TKR*. I am allowed to drive now -- I have put my walker in storage. (I will be more than happy to loan it if needed.) Therapy will continue through August and my final appointment with the Orthopedic Dr. is August 22. I walk good, mostly pain free now, and I am "knee deep" in BSU reunion plans!!! A letter concerning our BSU Reunion plans was mailed to 220 BSU members. I received only 2 returns with wrong addresses -- Gary Dempsey and Helen Morey. There were 2 change of addresses -- Vivian Kosher and Bernard Williams and a mistake on my part with the address of Warren Dawson. I think we have a large, correct, and up-to-date mailing list. This mailing list is found under Directory on our web site www.bsu-siu.com. Please use it as needed for your BSU correspondence (cards--letters-information.etc). This list will be used for noon banquet reservations later in the year (late Aug or early Sept.) Our theme "Get Your Kicks on Route 66" is a fun theme. I hope you will enjoy our decorations and plans. A wonderful group of helpers and I are having a good time with this theme. You will like what you see!!! If at all possible plan to attend the Thursday night Fellowship!!! We will begin with a light 'supper' around 5:30 PM. This Thursday night will be mostly fellowship, fun, food, and snacks. Our plans are made with you in mind. Friday morning will be a bit more structured--picture taking--reports--announcements--(all geared toward your enjoyment.) Our noon meal will be at 12:30 PM. We will have an inspirational speaker by the name of Jack, special music, memories, etc. Come expecting a good time!! Well September will be our special month. Look forward to our September News page. I will have more details concerning our reunion. See you September 29-30 at the Meadow Heights Baptist Church in Collinsville, IL.
