Dear BSU Member of the 40's--50's--and 60's,

I want to send Holidays Greetings to you.!! Christmas is a special time of the year for us, and the New Year offers another year of hope and opportunity.

I became your State BSU President 3 years ago when Maurice Swinford resigned . I have tried to bring us closer together with the use of e-mail, annual reunions, a new BSU web site (updated and added to often) and a postal letter twice a year to all BSU members everywhere (224 names on mailing list in 19 different states). The 2005 Christmas letter will be mailed out this week. If you do not hear from me-- it means that I do not have a correct postal mailing address for you. !! Please see that I get one!! Our 14th annual reunion next year will be held in Carbondale Il. at the Walnut Street Baptist Church Sept 28-29 2006.

I have been working on the program for 2006. I have chosen the theme, "Music, Music, Music." I got the idea from the 1958 hit record made by Theresa Brewer "Put another nickel in --In the nickelodeon--All I do is think of you-- and Music, Music Music. I plan to build the program around this theme. I am asking all former Chapel Singers to be present and to present a musical concert under the direction of Rayford Raby.( Rayford retired this year after serving 44 years as director of music at the Calvary Baptist Church in Alton Il. (I didn't want him to feel neglected) Now, all I need to do is get you and those former chapel singers there!! We can do this I know!! I have several commitments now.

Our BSU web site is very active. It provides a wealth of information---a complete listing of all 224 names and addresses of BSU members--a monthly news letter--over one hundred pictures taken at the recent reunions -- a large group picture taken in Sept. 2005 plus individual pictures taken at the recent reunion----a number of vintage pictures (don't miss these)-- names of those members who are deceased --maiden names of female BSU'ers-- a listing of 50th (and above) wedding anniversaries --and more more more!!!

At our 2006 reunion I plan a light "supper" on Thursday night at 5:30 PM at he church. The musical concert will be Friday after lunch and will be our inspirational message of the reunion. Happy Holidays to you --- may your winter be spent in the warmth of family and friends--may your spring and summer be a happy and healthy time for you, and may we all get together in the fall to discuss BSU days, share memories, renew relationships and praise the Lord for His goodness to each of us. We may be getting older but we will never cease to praise the Lord for our BSU days. Let's keep those precious memories alive as we share them together in September.
