February 2008 News
Dear BSU Friends,
Gee, what a cold month we have experienced. It has been our coldest time of the season. I am
writing this the last week of January and it is 9 above. It was even colder last week with 5
above. Those of you in Arizona, Texas, and Florida--stay there --until I give you a signal
to come home.!! I am so glad you can spend the winter months in a warm climate. However, February is
here and March is on the horizon. It will be better soon. Praise the Lord for the seasons. I do enjoy
all four of them--some just a bit better than others. Ha
I continue to keep busy with BSU news.I love hearing from you all. Almost everyday I hear from one of you.
I was sorry to hear about the death of Carrie Mae (Taylor) Relleke (12-26-07). Bob Mann kept me informed
about her condition. Carrie Mae was one of our oldest BSU members. Dorothy ( Kunath) Gericke is another of
our older members. She and Carrie Mae were roommates while attending SIU. Isn't that interesting.? Dorothy
lives in Texas. She isn't very well. I never knew Carrie Mae. I understand she was a very active BSU member.
She worked with Dr.Geo. L Johnson during those early BSU days. We are grateful for those who came before us.
I received word Jan.23 that Marge Green Brim had died. I sent the letter from Chuck to each of you. Marge was
one of our precious BSU members. Check the web site under Golden Anniversary for a picture.

computer very much. Pat Bellingers's email address is L1822@AOL.com
Let me share some health concerns with you. Dale Clemens is doing better (not good-but better). He is driving again. He may need to have a shoulder replacement later.(If he is able) Myron Dillow writes that they still need our prayers. Marjorie is doing a bit better. It is a "day by day" thing. Others asking for prayer are Thom Harvengt (for his wife Betty and for his sister Shirley) Bob and Suzi Stuckey are in Indonesia. Remember them in your prayers. I always worry when they are there. It helps when I pray.
I heard from Tom Purcell this week telling me about the 100th birthday celebration for Theron King-- A pastor in West Frankfort for years. Many of you will remember Bro. King. A wonderful Christian friend and pastor. If you want more information about this celebration write tpurcell@neondsl.net
I am making big plans for the 16th Annual BSU Reunion to be held at the Meadow Heights Baptist Church in Collinsville Il September 25-26 2008. Our theme is "The Nifty Fifties. Our program will be build around this theme. You will enjoy every minute of our time together. The Chapel Singers will lead our worship program Friday morning. Nate Adams will be our noon day speaker.I trust you are planning to attend. This is the highlight of our year.. Well, I must close. My prayers are with you daily. I pray for good health, good times, and good memories of our long ago BSU days. Our memories are dear to each of us.
