Beware of the groundhog. He is due in early February. Try to keep "him" in his hole. I don't want "him"
to see his shadow. Who needs six more weeks of winter? January was a "bummer". I t was cold, cold, cold!!!!
At least two nights it was below zero. Those spending time in Arizona, Texas, and Florida, beware.
I plan to spend to next winter with you. (don't fret I am only kidding) I am happy for you though.
Stay put until I tell you to come home. Those of us who love snow, cold, ice, etc. found a lot of stuff to
do. I am always busy up at the church. Most of you are too. Most of December was spent writing Christmas
cards. Every year I say, "this is my last year for writing Christmas cards". Then I hear from a friend or
two and I am writing cards again. I receive cards from many of you and they were all appreciated.
It is a fact, we have a new President. I plan to support him. I doubt if it will make a big difference in my
life. I don't need another stimulus check, but I will spend it wisely. I do plan to pray for my President.
He will need Divine Guidance. Our freedom is vital to all of us, individually and as a nation.
I will start soon with 2009 reunion plans. I have already done a "little" i.e. speaker chosen, chapel
singers committed, place selected, meals being planned, motel enlisted, and Thursday night entertainment
is being completed. Thursday night is our entertainment and fellowship meeting. On Friday we worship together.
Don't miss this upcoming reunion.
Here are my February news items:
- In Monte Knight's new book, he wrote a tribute to Lee Swope on page 135. Irma is aware of this tribute. (see January news for more information about Monte's book)
- George and Juanita Kunce have moved to Gallatin TN. They moved near Nashville to be near their children. Their address phone number and email address is: 268 Wallbrook Drive Gallatin TN 37066. Phone 615-461-8663. Email is GJKunce@comcast.net
- Dale Clemens is out of the hospital. Continue to pray for him.
- Now me, I had a knee problem last week. The Dr. said I had a blood clot in my leg as well as a hematoma in my stomach. I was in the hospital for seven days. I am home and doing much better. "you cannot keep this old lady down!!"
SUMMARIZATION
We have just begun a new year. Yes, 2009 is well on its way. I find the time passes so very quickly. I am sure this is true for you too so I stay busy. There are so many ways to serve. I see needs all around my church. I sometimes wish I wasn't so "puny" . I want to do more. Poor knees has a way of slowing me down. (so does age by the way). Make plans to attend 2009 reunion. Love to you all.
