July is a very special month. We celebrate July 4h in a big "fireworks" way. It is a vacation month. It is a very hot month in Illinois. It is a favorite month for family reunions, picnics, etc. Perhaps, it is most important to me because it is my birthday month. I was born July 9th in 1922. You figure it out!! Now, I realize that I am older than most of you - Why must I do most of the work??? Because I like doing it -- that is why!! And, I have had a longer time to prepare. And, I think I am good at it!! ha ha

During the month I have:

Added the mailing address for Sandra Edwards and Jane Hancock.
Added the e-mail address for Dave and Jim Richardson.
Added the name and address of a Christopher Hammon (son -in- law of Pat Bellinger- and the latest graduate of SIU) on our mailing list 1969. He won't know very many of us--if any--but he begged me to put him on our list. I could never resist the pleading of a young man!!.
Added two vintage pictures--one a choir group and a graduation class--(late 40's-early 50's) I could name only a few.--see if you can name more.

Several prayer request have made this past month. Our hearts were saddened over the death of our dear friend and BSU leader Maurice Swinford. He was our leader for so long. He will be missed!! We must continue to pray for Charlotte Swinford, Bill Richardson, Kenneth Hardway and others. Remember- too -that we have several members undergoing treatment for a variety of reasons. There is Elaine Dickson, Micki Nicol, Mildred Odle, Iona Kassner, Jane Sims, and others. Our prayer chain is very important to us all.

I have been trying to write the History of the BSU Reunions. I want to have it ready for you at the upcoming reunion. We have had 13 Annual Reunions. I am also trying to get the BSU Directors listed in the order they served. An easy task, yes!!! No, it has been very difficult to get it right--you all have different ideas!! I think I will have it done soon though. I do appreciate your responding to my request--even if you didn't know the correct answers.

I am assuming you have made your Motel reservations for the Reunion in September. I had 10 rooms reserved at Super Eight on a first come first served basis. I imagine those rooms are gone. Remember you will receive a registration letter from Gerald Glasco concerning your attendance at the Reunion. I have asked Gerald to send a letter in Mid August (6 weeks prior to reunion). We will be using the mailing list taken from the Directory on the web site. You might like to double check your name and address so we will be sure and get it to the right person. This is a big job--by the way. Most of the details for the Reunion have been made. I will stay on top of things and place plans in motion as time goes on. Trust me I know where I am going!!

Well, that is all for now. July is here. Enjoy every day of it. God is in control and we are in good hands. Let me hear from you if I can help you in any way. Remember though I am older now. I must slow down a bit so you can catch up!! I love you all.
