June is an exciting month. It is really the beginning of our summer. May and the flowers came as expected. The April showers had seen to that!! And, now it is June. I recall the words to the old song "June Is Busting Out all Over,"
and that makes for exciting days. I miss not planning for the BSU 2010 Reunion. However, it is a "good miss"
if you know what I mean. I really don't need that much planning and detailed work any more. Our Reunion plans are
in good hands. Ginger has a firm grip on all plans. We have met twice for planning. I love to suggest without the
doing!! Ginger loves the doing without the suggestions. (just kidding Ginger- it went well with the sentence). So,
we are both happy. Now, I don't have a lot of news to share this month. Let me suggest that you please send me your
changes of addresses, death notices, illnesses, etc. I will do my best to keep the web site up to date. I do this for
your benefit. I want to keep you informed. We have 256 names on our web site. Most of them have mailing addresses.
Many of them have a phone number and an email address. Check it out -- Look under
Directory. Now there is a lot of other "stuff" on the web site too --
hundreds of picture
(under Reunions) -- anniversaries,
maiden names,
deaths, and more more more. You will be surprised what you might learn!!!
June News Items
- Rinnie Spencer writes, "I Enjoyed your news, but I was thinking as I was reading. Each month will no doubt have some one that has died or is dying. You know that is our age, but God is good because those of us that are left are thankful for each day. Harold and Evelyn lost their first Great Grand Child today. She was 6 days old. (see note below)
- "Thanks for the news Helen.
Leona Davis is improving, she will finish therapy Thursday this week and go home. The kids are trying to find someone to stay with her for awhile. She is able to walk down the hall alone at therapy, but they didn't say how her hand and arm are doing."

- Ada Ann continues to live alone. She does have special help though. She is not able to attend church. However Kim and Jeff and their families are most active. Dale would be proud.
- I need the mailing addresses for the following people. Can you help me??
J. A. Hauser ---Monte Knight--Phil Mckown,-- Betty Daniels,--Betty Mitchell -- Sampson Harris-- Bob Mighell---Juanita McCarthy--Donna Whorton--Sharon Kay Biever. You will notice they are included on the Directory list as (BSU members) but have no address. Maybe you can help me!!
- We had a wonderful time at our recent New Building Celebration at the Meadow Heights Baptist Church. The new building was named Clemens Hall. What a tribute to our former pastor and an BSU Member in the 50's. Dale was so loved by all of us.Ada Ann was not able to attend. However the family was well represented by his children and grand children.
- A NOTE FROM FRANK GERICKE: "Dorothy's dementia is much worse and she had some blood tests last week and we saw the doctor yesterday for the results; Her physical condition tells us that she is losing kidney function, she has leukemia, and also diabetes. We had a meeting with the people from Hospice today and a hospital bed will be delivered tomorrow and she will get nursing visits at least twice weekly and nurses on call 24/7.
I wish that there were some way to tell this gently but I don't know how to do it." Hugs Frank (Helen writes----Dorothy is one of our oldest BSU members. She was at SIU in the late 30's and early 40's. Frank and Dorothy lives in AZ. Dorothy and Ruth Doughty are sisters. Their maiden name was Kunath).
Love you all!
