June is "Busting out all over" is a well-known phrase used to describe the beginning of the month of June. I believe it is a rather true statement. Things are sure "busting out" here in Collinsville, Illinois, just now. I love this season. April did bring Spring flowers. We enjoyed them too!! Now, June is here and summer is just around the corner. Time flies when you get older. (I notice it, and so do most of you.) I had my last chemo treatment in May. I am feeling so much better. However, every day brings a new challenge it seems. My faith has surely been tested over and over. Many of you know what I mean. Everyday I need to re-learn an old habit. Everyday I discover something I can not do. I do see progress--continue to pray for me. I need patience, energy, friends who care and a steady diet of "I can--I will--I must." I do appreciate your love--your prayers--and your support. I look forward to seeing you all at the 17th Annual BSU Reunion September 24-25, 2009. I plan to be there.

TEN FACTS CONCERNING THE BSU REUNION

1. Our 17th Annual BSU Reunion will be held in Carbondale--at the BSU Ministries Bldg. on Thursday night and at the UBC Friday.
2. Nate Adams will be our guest speaker on Friday (following luncheon).
3. The "New Chapel Singers" will sing during the Worship Program on Friday morning.
4. The Barrows (Oleta, Bob, Rosie and Jim) have a surprise feature--Thursday night?
5. The Tebows (Frank and Susie) will bring special music Thursday night.
6. Chase Abner, the BSU Director at SIU, will share his plans on SIU campus with us.
7. Our theme for the 2009 Reunion is "I Remember When." Look for displays.
8. We need to elect a new BSU President.
9. We need to elect a new Secretary and Treasurer. (Gerald can not do it anymore.)
10. We need a place to meet in 2010 if we are to continue to have BSU Reunions. Any volunteers for these last three needs?

2. Several emails have been returned as unavailable. Charles Gray--Jim Ebbs--Paul Dempsey--Beverly Davis--Don Bethel--Charlene Ray Kimmel (These friends will not receive the monthly newsletter.) Please send correct addresses.
3. Dale Clemens remains on the prayer list. (In and out of hospital--falling, etc.)
4. Several BSU members are now on Facebook. (Know what I mean?) We share a lot of news. (Want to join?--let me know.)
5. Mary White Meek, the sister of Sam White (also a BSU member), needs our prayers. She had exploratory surgery on April 30.
6. Lillian Zoeller, Marion, Illiois, died May 6, 2009. Her husband, Bill Zoeller, died in April, 2006. Lillian and Bill were BSu membrs at SIU in the 40's.
7. Nina Aikman has been seriously ill for the last two months. She is out of the hospital and at home. She needs our prayers. Nina served as secretary to Dr. George L. Johnson while I was a BSU member in the 1940's.
8. I received a "How are you doing?" phone call from the Talberts (Audrey and Wilbur). It was a pleasant surprise.
9. AN ANSWER TO PRAYER!! I saw the dr. today and he says - "No more chemo." He says I'm cancer free. Thank you Lord and thank you for all your prayers and concerns. God is so good!
