March 2005 News

Dear BSU Friends,

I can hardly believe it is March 2005. Time really does fly when you are having fun--staying busy is also a good source. In some ways February has been a sad month. Rinnie Spencer, Ada Ann Clemens, Jim Norman, have had major heart problems. Praise the Lord for answered prayers. They are all doing better now. One sad note. We lost Ruby Guymon Vaughn and Bud Rushing in February. They were dear friends to many of us. They will be missed. We loved them so.

Guess what ?? I found someone who gave me an old 45 speed record made by the Chapel Singers in the early 6o's. His name is Gene Parkhill. (He was also a chapel singer.) I had found two others who thought they had a copy (but they were unable to find it !!) I spent a great deal of time trying to identify those in the picture. (See Chapel Singers under Vintage Pictures) I have them all identified. (I think) See for yourself and tell me if I am right. What a job!! People don't look like they used to!!

I found two more Johnson Hall pictures--one taken in 1950 the other in 1954. I also found a 2005 Reunion. I will use this page to update you about reunion plans for 2005. I am making plans even now for our September 29-30 reunion. I have a few surprises in music, speakers, decorations, etc., but I will continue to major on fellowship (ties and lies). That is what we like!! Right?? Check out this page for information and inspiration.

I will make changes as needed. You can find what you need about the upcoming reunion immediately.

Well, that is all for February. I have asked my niece to save the monthly news page just in case you want to check something "you may have forgotten". It is listed under archives (see it)? I am sorry I used that word forgotten I meant to say "check out something you needed".

In the meantime let me know if I can be of service to you. I will keep you informed. Please do the same for me. I need your updates, inputs etc. I had a dear friend who used this phrase "the Lord smiled on me today". I use it often too. He does smile on us everyday. Don't you miss it !!!
