Windy March has arrived. The forecast says,"It will come in like a lion and go out like lamb".
We will see. I look forward to March. February was a "bummer" for me. I spent most of the month
with my right leg elevated with a blood clot. I am some better now but not well.I need to stay off
the leg until the swelling goes down." Why does it take so long," I said, for 28 days in Feb."
(everyday in the month). I can not use the computer for any length of time, so I may neglect you.
I have been able to provide information you have ask of me. The web site is up to date so you
should be able to get addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses from the
Directory
on the web site.
I am also making reunion plans for 2009. We are to meet in Carbondale at the
UBC and the Baptist Student Building on Oakland Ave. I am using an "old fashioned spiral notebook"
for making plans. Isn't that a "sad state of affairs"?? Things will get better. Our theme for
the reunion is "I Remember When". I thought this to be appropriate since we will be in Carbondale
and the Thursday night session will be held in the Student Ministries Building. It will allow time
for us to remember when!!! It is so true that I do remember when we were BSU members -- meeting
for noon day prayer meetings, chapel services, or making plans for youth revivals, and meeting
with prayer mates. These activities will bring back so many memories. So our theme "I Remember When"
should be a lot of fun for all of us. Memories are precious.
NEWS ITEMS FOR THE MONTH
- I had a letter from Darrell and Betty Molen telling me that they were planning a trip to Florida in mid February.
They plan to visit with Betty Burton as well as Lee and Juanita Rule. (Well good luck in finding Betty Burton --
I have looked for her several times. Cheryl Odle is the best source.)
- Don and Georgia Kelley plan to be in Florida during the month of Feb and March.
- I had a note from Faye Grigg asking about Monte Knight's new book. I mentioned this in
my January news (Check archive news on the web site.)
I am asking Monte to be with us during our 2009 reunion to promote the book -- I hope
he will be able to have a book signing session for us. I will ask!!
- The Zip code for the Kunce is 37066. They have moved to Gallain, Tenn
.
- Dale Clemens continues tto be in poor health. He hasn't been to church in several weeks -- really months
- Latest report on me!! I had CS Biopsy on Feb.23. The mass (found earlier) in my stomach is still there.
I had been told it was a bruise and that it would dissolve itself. Now, I wait on the report.
I hate waiting!! It looks like I will miss Cardinal Spring Training too.

SUMMARY: Well that is all for now. I must get my poor little knee elevated. MY mind is clear and I can do "tons"
of planning here in my lounger and my little spiral notebook... I can remember when I did not have a computer.
So, I will make do! Our 2009 reunion will be one of our best. All of us can associate with the theme. "I can remember when."
That is what we will be doing. Please set aside the date September 25,26 for the 2009 BSU reunion.
Love to you all
Helen Galloway
Greetings from Helen's pastor, Jim Donahue. Helen received word today that the biopsy is positive for lymphoma. She will begin a twelve week program of chemotherapy and the doctor projects good results. The swelling in her leg has been caused by the lymphoma. She will certainly enjoy your thoughts and prayers for her. She is having a rough time right now, but your love and prayers will give her support and encouragement. Thank you for all you will do for her.
