May 2007 News
Dear BSU Members,
"April showers brings May flowers." This old adage seems to be true here. The latter part of April was unusually cold. Plants froze, trees were stressed, shrubs were damaged. So in many ways I am happy to turn the calendar over to May. I am looking forward to May flowers too.
I plan to go to Herrin early in May. I plan to meet with BSU Reunion Committee at the First Baptist Church. Juanita Kunce is the chairman of the committee. Most of the decorations have been purchased, the program nearly finished, handouts are being run off, and final arrangements are being made for our music selections. Our theme "Harvest Days" is being followed throughout our plans. When I meet with Juanita and the committee we will finish up our planning, THEN THE FUN BEGINS. We will start working our plans.
I have 21 committed to sing again this year. I expect more--many have not responded as of April 30th . I will list these chapel singers in next months news. This will allow time for others to say yes. Our guest speaker will be Nate Adams. His Mother Romelia (Mrs Tom Adams) will be with us too.
Now several news items.
Well, that is all for now. I am busy with reunion plans, but I am not too busy to answer your letters. Let me help you if I can. Helen Green Galloway

- I am in the process of organizing a male quartet.
- I have the death dates for Bob and Bill Fuson.
- David Mills passed away April 2,2007 (see Memorials) (CLICK)
- Bob and Suzi Stuckey will be home from Indonesia and plan to be at the reunion and sing with the "New Chapel Singers"
- George Casey has agreed to be our photographer for the reunion. Bill and Irma needed a rest. Thanks to Bill and Irma. And thanks to George.
- Continue to Pray for Dale Clemens. Dale had his 77th birthday in mid April
- Remember Irma Swope in your prayers She suffered a major heart attack last week and is doing better.
- Ruth Crockett has requested prayer for their son Bruce.(I sent you letter last week)
- Rinnie Spencer has new email address vspencer26@tampabay.rr.com
