May 2010 News
April showers brings May Flowers. This is a"trueism" It happened in Collinsville, Il.
We had those April showers and now we are seeing those beautiful and plentiful May flowers. I
thank God for the blessings of life.I am so grateful. I plan to enjoy these beautiful May
flowers, trees, shrubs, etc. provided for our enjoyment. May provides three very special holidays
for us to enjoy. We celebrate Mothers day on May 9. (Now, most of us do not have our mothers still with us--I lost mine in 1965),
but we celebrate with memories and appreciation. So, we can honestly say "Happy Mother's Day".
And, Armed Forces Day is celebrated in US on the third Saturday in May. This day is to honor
all people who are serving or have served in the military. That date this year is May 15.
And Memorial Day is celebrated on May 31th.This is the day set aside to commemorate the US men
and women who died while in the military. These are very important dates for us to remembe.
Many cities celebrate with a May Day Parade. I always liked that!! So, May is here--April has gone, and before we
can "turn around" June will be upon us. I try to enjoy every day of every month and I am sure
you do too. Every month is the month to remember old BSU friends. I pray for you often and hope you are well. Here is my MAY news.

- Hi, I'm Agnes Davis, Leona's sister-in-law, I understand that Leona's left leg, and arm & hand are very weak and she can't use them,
she has had a light stroke. So please pray for her that the therapy will help her regain the use of her left limbs. She has a long way to go,
but only God can take care of that. Last time I talked to her she was sort of down so she needs our prayers and thoughts in several ways.
- Perhaps everyone will be writing you about this. I don't know if you have the same Lifeway S.S. quarterly we do, but it was neat to see Don and
Ann Davis pictured in Uganda on one of the pages this morning ---Verona Highsmith ( April 18)

- A new email address for Anderson (AB) Plunkett is abprlp10@gmail.com
I thought you might like these two cute stories. I received them from Frank Gericke
God's Problem Now
His wife's graveside service was just barely finished, when there was a massive clap of thunder, followed by a tremendous
bolt of lightning, accompanied by even more thunder
rumbling in the distance. The little old man
looked at the pastor and calmly said,
'Well, she's there."
And another:
As I was nursing my baby, my cousin's six-year-old
daughter, Krissy, came into the room. Never having seen anyone breast feed
before, she was intrigued and full of all kinds of questions about what I was doing.
After mulling over my answers, she remarked, 'My mom has some of those, but I don't think she knows how to use them.'
