Dear BSU Friends,

Happy New Year--2006. Yes, a new year is here. That means a new year of planning for our BSU work and preparation for our BSU Reunion. This year our reunion will be held at the Walnut Street Baptist Church in Carbondale IL--Sept 28-29 2006 (note Link). Let me begin by asking you, "Did you get a Christmas letter from me (postal letter)" If not, that means you are not on my BSU postal mailing list. Please let me know about this. I now have 224 on the list with 19 different states represented.

Please visit the web site often -- www.bsu-siu.com-- It is full of information, entertainment, suggestions, and helps. Don't miss anything!! I change things often, correct things as soon as possible, add new things, and write this monthly newsletter -- all just for you!!

I received so many nice Christmas letters from you. I read them all. I learned a lot and enjoyed them all. Thank you for your thoughtfulness!!

I now have 30 names for the "New Chapel Singers" If you did not send me your name please do so. I need more, more, more!! I plan for this group to be the inspirational feature at our 14th Annual BSU Reunion in Sept. I am excited about this and so are many of you. I hear only good things about this idea.

Now, a few news items:

George and Leona Davis have moved to Vandalia IL (address on web).
Helen Ruth Dillow is to have total knee replacement on both knees - Jan.3.
Frank Gericke writes that his wife Dorothy now has Alzheimer (so sad)
Elaine Dickson is undergoing treatment for thyroid cancer
several new addresses have been added to Directory (F Griggs- M.Bartels Elliott- George Davis--Don Cross--Stan Nicol--David Mills- Charles Fisher--Jim Cox--Don Stuckey-- Nan Stogstill-- James Springs and maybe others.
Several of our BSU members have gone to warmer climates for the winter- M. Swinfords, B.Walker, K, Hall and others. I have a few of those addresses if you need them!!

Now I plan to get a new Dell computer real soon. I will be getting DSL and a new e-mail address. I may be lost from you for a short time. I DON'T LIKE CHANGES. ( I plan to keep Juno and " my old faithful computer" plugged in until I learn how to use the new one.)

I have included e-mail addresses in our directory.(Click) I now have 110. That is wonderful !! I had 28 when I became your President. I will try to keep them updated but it will not be easy---e-mail addresses change so often. You should have no trouble finding them. I do good!!

I want to close by sharing a sentence from one of my Christmas letters. " We thank you from the depths of our heart. You truly are a bright light on top of every tree" Now, you know why I do what I do for you!!!
