Hello Dear BSU Friends,
The monthly news item has to do with the September Reunion. I had hoped the report, pictures, and the whole ball of wax could have been wrapped up before now!! Things got a bit hectic during those last days in Sept and early October---so I am still working on it!!
This is what I have done. The individual pictures taken by Bill Richardson were sent out (postal mail) the first week following the reunion. I enclosed a group picture, a statistical report and a list of those people present at the reunion. A group picture was sent to all members on my e-mail list.
Then my niece Kim (programmer for web site) was able to get the individual pictures with names on the web site as well as the statistical report and the list of the people present. Now we need to get the large group picture (with names) on the site. We plan to include a number of snapshots with headings in the very near future. We will get it done--never fear--Galloway is here!!
Other bits of news --- George Davis seems to be improving little by little. Continue to pray for him and decisions that need to be made there in their lives. I am trying to compile a list of Chapel singers (those who sang with the Chapel Singers during the years of 40's -50's- and 60's. I have 134 names now. That isn't nearly all of them. If you have not sent in your name please let me hear from you. I especially need names of those who sang during the years of 1951--1952--1957--1958 --1960. I realize there is an overlapping of years!! Help me if you can!!
My e-mail address for Chuck Morris has been returned several times. Do any of you know if he has changed his e-mail address or has moved?? Let me know if you have heard anything. Chuck and Erica lived in Richmond Va.. Erica died some time ago. I also need a new e-mail address for Mr. and Mrs Richard Hendrickson. They live in Marion IL. Can you help??
Remember our reunion for 2006 will be in Carbondale IL. -- Walnut Street Baptist Church. Our plans to go to Lake Salleteeska did not materialize. A schedule conflict came into being after I had talked to Mark Lee -- the pastor there. Maybe another time?? In the meantime , I am excited about going to Walnut Street. Many of us "old" BSU'ers went to Walnut Street during our BSU days. The pastor there - Wes Henson - has invited us and I am looking forward to our 14th annual reunion September 28-29, 2006. Mark your calendars now!!
I plan to get out a Christmas letter to all BSU members on our postal mailing list. There are now more than 200 members listed in our directory on the web site. If you need an address for any of our members it is on the web site. I will send each a copy of our reunion report and inform them about the meeting place. Those of you with e-mail hear from me often but others do not-----lucky aren't they!!!
I am in the process of choosing our theme for next year. I need to check out a few things before I finalize that. It is beautiful in Collinsville during this fall season. I love the fall so I am enjoying it very much. Let me hear from you if I can help you in any way.
